My name is Nikki and I love to travel and explore.

Whether it be growing up in Africa, where a spirit for adventure is essential to survival, or watching my father globe trot from afar, or just wanting to experience as many lives as possible - travel has become my passion! My family and friends know that I love to learn (you have to enjoy it somewhat after 7 years of studying!), but I think that learning about other cultures, other cities, other countries, and their various diverse peoples and history, is my passion. You know the saying "walk a mile in another's shoes”? That’s me, I love that. As part of my psychology background, I think I just love to get under the skin and on the inside of everything, and experience as much as possible. Often I wait for my travel partners (mom, dad, sister, friend, random stranger I met on a walking tour) to turn their backs, and I close my eyes and think about the place I was 100 years ago, trying to feel what it was like. Embarrassingly enough, hoping I would be magically transported there!

I was born and raised in South Africa, and lived there all my life. After finishing with high school, I spent more of my time studying. Another seven years and I had my Masters in Educational Psychology, and was a qualified psychologist in South Africa. Of course, this meant I had very LITTLE time or money for travel. I was however fortunate to travel with my family when I was a kid. My parents are from England (Blackpool, to be exact), so many school holidays were spent visiting my family in the UK. My father also traveled a lot for his business and boy, did I envy him, even from a young age. I always knew one day that I would set out to travel as much as he did. I am playing a massive game of catch up!

At the age of 24, after living on my own without any family (BUT wonderful friends and neighbors), I moved to the US. This was to join my family who had moved here several years previously. With family in the US and England, it meant I was fortunate enough to get to do a lot of traveling (sadly, almost all of my prior pictures are amateur hour!). So far I have been to 5 continents, 11 countries, and 17 USA states (as of July, 2014).

If you haven’t checked out the rest of my adventures you should do so. I'm currently torn between traveling the rest of the world and checking off all 50 states before I turn 30! What to do, what to do! (Let me know if you would like to sponsor me to do both! heehee) In the time that I am not traveling, I am at my home base in Jupiter, Florida - a beautiful little town, smack in between Miami and Orlando. This means that we get a ton of visitors!  What I also love about traveling is being able to share it with others. When friends or family visit me, I love playing tour guide, whether they like it or not! Apart from that, I have my own business working as a private learning specialist, where I help children of all ages with their learning and academic pursuits. I love it! And sometimes it's hard to juggle between wanting to work in this passion, or to feed my travel one! Education, in my opinion, changes your life. Your access (or lack thereof) to knowledge and learning, is your access to empowerment, and to a better life, including one where you can help others. I'm hoping one day, when I am more successful, I can do more in the educational field. Combining travel and education would be the ultimate!

Anyways! I hope you learnt all you wanted to about me. My page is about sharing my travel experiences, and offering advice. The pages on this site are to be filled with reviews, advice, tips and my experiences. I hope you enjoy and thank you for taking the time to visit.
